SynopsisThis course aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of a broad range of approaches to assessing individual behaviour in adults and children through the use of standardised tests. Students will develop expertise in the analysis, interpretation, and communication of psychological test data pertinent to psychological practice. Attendance at the five on-campus workshops is mandatory. Dates of the five workshops will be according to the 'Workshop Schedule' which will be emailed to students at the outset of the program.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
1.
inspect appropriate methods, tools, and approaches with an awareness of ethical issues in the conduct and use of psychological tests and consider the implications for test selection and interpretation;
2.
interpret assessments conducted and make recommendations regarding intervention;
3.
integrate cognitive, psychosocial, psychoeducational, and behavioural test findings according to evidence-based best practices;
4.
communicate results of assessments in an effective manner and in the context of multidisciplinary teams and clients.

1. Scope of Psychological Assessment from referral and intake interview, to feedback and recommendations, and ethical and professional issues in regard to psychological assessment. 2. Evidence-based report writing. 3. Adult Psychosocial Assessment. 4. Adult Cognitive/Intellectual Assessment. 5. Educational and Developmental Assessment.

Assessments

Assessment due dates (as listed in Week Due) are indicative until finalised by the end of Week 1 for each Study Period (Offering). After Week 1, Assessment due dates may change with the approval of the Dean (Academic) or Delegate in limited circumstances. All Assessment due date changes approved after Week 1 will be communicated to students accordingly via Handbook and StudyDesk.
