SynopsisThe course includes practice modules covering aspects of Geology and Geomechanics. Practice requirements for each module include laboratory work in a team environment, field excursions and the preparation of individual reports on these practice activities. The geological field excursion provides the student with specialised instruction on the identification and the engineering significance of geological features. Students will be required to carry out soil tests to Australian standards to gauge various engineering properties of soils.

This course contains a mandatory residential school for online students and mandatory on-campus laboratories or practical classes for on-campus students.
