<p>The clinical placement will be offered in block mode and students will be required to live and work rurally for the entire time. Students will develop related skills such as writing reports and liaising with referral agents to explaining reports and the rationale for treatment decisions. Students will consider assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing in the context of compassionate care taking into consideration the client’s cultural, spiritual, linguistic and social characteristics and what is value to them. The International Classification of Function, Disability and Health (ICF) will enhance clinical reasoning and critical thinking to see a client beyond the limitations imposed by a particular condition. Support for this placement may be provided by tele-supervision by USQ speech pathologists and/or by other allied health supervising clinicians.</p>
