SynopsisIn this course students will be introduced to the Queensland statutory and common law relating to cadastral surveying, cadastral surveyors and land registration as per State legislation. Students will be able to outline the historical and current survey requirements for Queensland and select appropriate field measuring techniques, field checking procedures, marking requirements and drafting standards for cadastral surveys. A significant component of the course will develop skills to solve and perform cadastral boundary reinstatement calculations for both rural and urban surveys and to categorise, apply and justify reinstatement principles for cadastral surveys.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:

Apply and interpret Queensland statutory and common law relating to cadastral surveying, cadastral surveyors and land registration as set out in various Acts and Regulations
2.
Outline the historical and current survey requirements for Queensland including marking requirements
3.
Select appropriate field measuring techniques and field checking procedures for cadastral surveys
4.
Interpret, evaluate and prepare Queensland cadastral survey plans using current drafting practices
5.
Solve and perform cadastral boundary reinstatement calculations for both rural and urban surveys
6.
Categorise, apply and justify reinstatement principles for cadastral surveys
