SynopsisAPPROVED FOR FIRST OFFER 2024
This unit builds on learning from OCT1102 Occupational Performance - The Occupation to develop an understanding of how personal capacities influence occupational performance. It is also linked to OCT2102 Occupational performance - The Environment. Together, all three courses will provide a thorough understanding of factors impacting on occupational performance. Students will develop skills in assessing and enhancing a person's motor, cognitive, sensory, social and emotional capacities. Lectures will be used to develop content knowledge in each of those domains, and practical classes will develop specific skills in standardised, non-standardised and observational assessment. Students will learn ways of planning interventions that are occupation-based and goal directed. Evidence of core competencies will be compiled. Clinical skills established in this course will be developed further in OCT3103 Advanced Occupational Therapy Skills.
