SynopsisThis course provides a brief overview of benefits and innovation that IT solution bring to the industry. To help students better understand what industries are concerned, Students have to understand the authentic demands from the industry in aligning with students' chosen program and/or majors. Students will purposely prepare themselves with the knowledge and essential skills required to meet real world challenges by the direct consulting with the industry clients and industry partners. It facilitates students to develop some employability attributes to become the competent IT System analytics, Software and Application programmer and developer, Web and Database Integration and Network administrators, Data Analytics, AI expert, etc. Students will prepare a plan for their future Career, and report what needs and skills they have identified by Investigating Industry projects. The course will be delivered in a series of workshops, seminars, and guest lectures by inviting successful people from the IT industry and academia to give their perspectives on what is required to succeed in IT.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:

Develop career decisions that are aligned with professional and personal values, interests and motivations

Appraise strengths, skills and experiences per the graduate employment opportunities and programs relating to a field of study/preferred employment or enterprise pathways to identify gaps and strategies for future development and develop a pathway aligned with the career ambitions
3.
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of ICT Professional Knowledge (e.g., Ethics, Professional expectations, teamwork concepts and issues, Interpersonal communications, social issues/legal issue/privacy and understanding of the ICT profession)
4.
Report on connections with people, organisations, industries and resources through WIL, industry events, networking and engagement with professional associations that might provide work, experience, mentoring and/or networking opportunities
5.
Prepare a quality application e-portfolio (i.e., resume, digital profile, selection criteria, etc)

Assessments

Assessment due dates (as listed in Week Due) are indicative until finalised by the end of Week 1 for each Study Period (Offering). After Week 1, Assessment due dates may change with the approval of the Dean (Academic) or Delegate in limited circumstances. All Assessment due date changes approved after Week 1 will be communicated to students accordingly via Handbook and StudyDesk.
