SynopsisMedical Biotechnology is the application of all of the biomedical science disciplines to produce a diagnostic, prognostic, preventative or treatment for disease. This second capstone course allows students to further develop their technical, quantitative and analysis skills in the biomedical science laboratory. These skills are necessary for students moving into graduate biomedical science careers or further research study.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
1.
Use a range of molecular biology, cell biology, immunology and microbiology-based laboratory techniques;
2.
Perform laboratory experiments safely and successfully with appropriate equipment, including molecular and conventional microbiological apparatus, computer software and hardware for data acquisition and analysis;
3.
Apply skills required for the preparation and presentation of a detailed research poster.
